Dare Day is always celebrated on June 1st. It’s a day to dare either yourself or others to (safely) do things they wouldn’t normally do. Think of it as a way to get someone to step outside of their comfort zone and get them to push themselves a bit. Whether it’s skydiving or stepping up on stage for Karaoke, dare them to take that step. It doesn’t have to be anything earth-shattering, just something that will encourage growth through experience.
The definition of “Dare” in this instance is simply to have the courage to do something you would not normally do.
If you don’t think you are brave enough to do something, dare yourself to take that extra step you have been putting off forever, whether it is to apply for that promotion, go back to school, or work to overcome your social anxiety and push yourself to talk more to strangers.
Did you know that your fear could very well be misplaced anxiety? In most cases, the fear is not over something that could actually cause physical harm to you but anxiety over what could happen but simply the unknown nature of an outcome. If you want to learn how to overcome your anxieties and gain some control over your daily life, you can read this. It had some great information regarding anxieties and fears and ways you can overcome them and push forward with your dreams and goals. I am currently reading it myself.
Today you are to step outside of your comfort zone and push yourself… I dare you…
