National Homemade Cookie Day is celebrated every year on October 1st. Let’s face it, cookies are delicious, and homemade cookies are simply heavenly. There is nothing better than the smell of cookies baking in the oven, except maybe the first bite of a soft, warm cookie fresh out of the oven. Baking cookies is a lot easier than most people think, and it does not take long to put together a batch of almost any kind of cookie you can imagine.
Homemade Cookie Recipes
There are more cookies recipes than there are days in the year, and quite possibly you could bake a different kind of cookie every day for years. We all have our favorites though, and depending on the season, there seem to be different favorites. Our family favorites are Snickerdoodle, oatmeal raisin, and peanut butter. What are your favorites? Let us know in the comments below.

Too Many Homemade Cookies?
I can’t imagine a world where there are too many homemade cookies, but if you do, don’t forget that cookies are perfect for bake sales, parties, and gifts. If you love baking as much as I do, you will find you have more cookies than you can eat, and so I pack them up and give them out as gifts, or send them to work with my husband. They are always appreciated. Bake up a batch for the new neighbors, or for the shut-in who lives nearby. Your visit with fresh baked cookies will be very welcome.
To Celebrate Cookie Day
To celebrate Cookie Day, you bake and eat lots of cookies, of course!
